Eat Chocolate & Lose Weight!

New research reveals chocolate is not only good for you, it can actually help weight loss.
Not only can you indulge, you can do it free of guilt but only if you choose your chocolate carefully.  Chocolate can help us lose weight.  Chocolate is a super food.
We each consume over five kilos of chocolate every year but no longer is it life’s guilty pleasures.  Chocolate has some surprising properties.  These properties have the ability to switch on hormones that promote fat burn.  Dr. John Ashton and Dr. Lily Stoyanovska have co-authored “The Chocolate Diet.”  They’re confident this diet is one that you won’t have any problem sticking to.  The Chocolate diet is one that is about using good quality chocolate as part of a healthy diet.  Who would’ve thought that by eating chocolate that you not only maintained your weight but actually lose a couple of pounds every week?  The health benefits of chocolate are impressive.  It stimulates compounds that actually suppress our body’s production of fat cells.  People that consume chocolate might be less inclined to be depressive, have a lot less incidence of heart attack and less incidence of stroke.  It also decreases cholesterol in the body.  It’s probably better for protecting the heart than red wine and we know that it helps lower blood pressure.  Studies are showing that it promotes some of the chemicals in the skin so it protects us from the damaging ultra violet rays.  One thing to note is that not all chocolate is good to lose weight.  The darker the colour the chocolate is and the higher percentage of cocoa, the better for us.  One chocolate bar a day is quite fine.  It’s also better to eat something that is 70% cocoa or more.  Dietician, Emma Sterling, advises to steer away from milk chocolate which is high in milk products and sugar.  “You certainly have to include foods that you enjoy like chocolate and recent studies looked at people who are chocolate and candy eaters and say that there is no real difference in their body weight.”
